Restraining Orders

The Court may issue an order prohibiting a party from disposing of assets while the case is pending. Furthermore, judges may also issue an order preventing a financial institution from allowing a party to have access to an account, all in an attempt to prevent someone from removing cash or securities without the knowledge of a spouse.

Domestic Violence (Civil Protection Order)

Victims of domestic violence have both criminal and civil remedies at their disposal. The civil action will request protection for the victim and may include protection orders requiring the perpetrator to do, or refrain from doing, certain acts. In a Domestic Relations Court, the remedy is referred to as a civil protection order.
